With the recent release of some leaked images via Kotaku and the subsequent confirmation by Ubisoft, we finally know our setting for one of the two new Assassin's Creed games coming out this autumn. It is very clear from the landmarks in the background of those leaked images that the game - called Unity - will be set in Paris, and if you're going to set an Assassin's Creed game in the French capital, then you might as well do it during the French Revolution. This presumption over the last couple of days has been confirmed with Ubisoft's release of some sneak peak footage showing Notre Dame Cathedral and a guillotine scene... There are some obvious reasons why Ubisoft will have chosen that setting: the Revolution itself happened towards the final years of the 18th century, allowing them to make further use of the graphics previously developed for Assassin's Creed III and IV, and it wouldn't make sense to ignore such a turbulent and potentially bountiful time period. Naturally until we hear more from Ubisoft directly we're not going to know the limitations of what we can expect: will this be a massive city setting like in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, or will we be able to roam the French countryside as well? Can we expect missions to divert us to brief appearances of other European countries during that period much like AC4 sent us to Africa? The possibilities are endless, so with that in mind, we're looking at five key points that will probably be included in the latest addition to the Assassin's Creed franchise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5eGRnbZ0fo&feature=youtu.be
