A number grind that ranks characters up across weeks and months, as long as there's a steady supply of items to chase and equip, the only tweaks are balancing and upping the level cap every now and then.

At least, in theory.

In reality, Avengers' loot is completely invisible. You can equip it and your character will pose using the part of their body it relates to... but nothing actually changes.

No, Avengers' "loot grind" is number-based. All rewards from missions - story or multiplayer - show up as pieces of gear with labels like "legendary" attached, but they only alter numerics and percentages.

To get any real aesthetic change you'll need to grind through individual character battle passes, which is a whole other problem in itself...
