Although ol' Lex isn't a Batman villain primarily, he has tasseled with the Caped Crusader on more than one occasion, and with Bruce Wayne on countless others.

In Arkham Knight, players could set up shop in Bruce's office in Wayne Tower. There, they could listen to some voicemail, and one of the messages left behind came from corporate rival and all around evildoer, Lex Luthor.

The call mentioned Luthor's designs on Wayne-Tech's Applied Sciences division, so it wouldn't be at all surprising if the billionaire attempted other, extra-legal methods in an attempt to annex it from Wayne's control. In that sense, Luthor could serve as both a public antagonist to Bruce Wayne and a shadowy one to Batman, providing players with a test of wits to counteract the combat-heavy nature of the Arkham series thus far.

And besides, he's Lex Luthor! He'd help scratch that Superman-themed itch fans seem to have and provide another stepping-off point for Arkham to branch out into different characters. Those Rocksteady-Superman rumours can't be for nothing, after all...
