Batman: Arkham Knight - 10 Things DLC Must Include To Be Worth It
For $40, it's going to have to be mighty special.
RocksteadyInitially welcomed to a somewhat icy reception, Rocksteady's aggressive DLC strategy for Arkham Knight's release has an awful lot of expectations to meet in order to warrant its hefty £32.99 ($39.99) price tag. Quite thankfully, it must be said, it looks as though the content will be more than worth its price in both its abundance and quality - but there is certainly a chance that the overall package may fall short of meeting many players' expectations. Bringing the total number of playable characters in Knight to seven, the addition of Barbara Gordon's Batgirl to the Arkham saga is very much a welcome one, and her inclusion is made ever more interesting via the revelation that she'll be starring in her own prequel DLC, predating the pivotal events of Arkham Asylum. Considering the tragic fate that eventually becomes of Gordon in both the comics and the Arkham saga as well, the potential for some truly emotive storytelling is high, and will undoubtedly be the piece of post-release content that players will be clamouring after the most. On top of this prequel addition to the Arkhamverse canon, Rocksteady looks set to include a plethora of DLC staples to the season pass - ranging from alternate skins and Batsuits, to themed races and redesigns (though it is unclear as to whether the Batmobile will feature different remodels). The newly announced 'dual play' feature will get its own challenge maps, and both Batman and his allies will receive story content expansions that involve new villains coming to test their metal in Gotham City. DLC has quite the controversial reputation in the gaming industry right now, so Rocksteady have quite the task at hand to convince the Arkham community to invest in it.
