In April 2013 it was announced that Warner Bros. Games Montreal would be serving as developers for Batman Arkham Origins, taking over from Rocksteady Studios. When I first heard this news, I was in many ways, worried. Worried that WBGM would ruin all the good work that Rocksteady Studios had built up over three years. I felt like WBGM would make it less darker and grittier than Rocksteady Studios did in Asylum and City. I thought that WBGM would turn this game into a complete disaster. I realise now that I may have overacted somewhat. I look at gameplay footage now, and it does look reasonably good, but I feel that they have decreased the darkness and grittiness of the game and made it more "polished" - that may be because it's based in Gotham, though. If that is the reason, then I think they could have gone with a much darker Gotham, as I felt that the darkness and roughness of the surroundings brought a real atmosphere to the game originally.
