Thankfully BF1 returns to the more considered loadout of the Battlefield games with an extremely varied selection of WW1 weapons, such as the ultra-satisfying bolt-action rifles and sub-machine guns of the era to name just two.

While it's a bit disappointing that customisation is rather on the limited side once again, it nevertheless perfectly captures an old-school feel for the most part, and gunplay is nothing if not ludicrously satisfying in the moment.
