When an equivalent of Las Vegas was first announced for GTA:SA, it was inevitable that gambling would feature, allowing users to participate in games such as blackjack and roulette (through frustratingly, Texas hold em poker would not debut until another Rockstar game, Red Dead Redemption, along with Liars Dice). Such games, along with the facility to bet on virtual horse races, were a welcome opportunity to source additional income throughout the game and could, if implemented in GTA5, allow players to play against each other online, adding to the existing array of modes available.
