Bloodborne: 10 Complaints Fans Are Already Sick Of Hearing

8. "You Can't Explore"

Something Dark Souls II changed for the worst was the idea of enemy respawns being a finite number, meaning if you defeated a particular creature 12 times it was gone from the world for good - unless you elected to repopulate the world with a specific item. It was their way of curbing the difficulty somewhat, allowing for those who kept dying to eventually thin the ranks enough to proceed, but in the process it made you feel like you couldn't grind the enemies to get your stats up if you wished; a staple of the RPG genre for years. In Bloodborne the enemies are back in force, but the misconception seems to stem from the idea that this means you're not free to explore, the fear being there'll always be something waiting to shear you to ribbons round every corner. This just isn't the case. More so than ever before there are items everywhere; from health regeneration to extra bullets and even otherwise-secret weapons - all things that go hand-in-hand with learning the combat well enough so you can comfortably walk around without dying every few minutes.
