Before the Borderlands series, guns in video games were a simple affair. The modern day equivalent of the ball from the humble €˜ball in a cup€™, except they weren€™t a ball, they were bullet-firing digital killing machines, and instead of cups there were generally the faces of Nazis, or aliens. Or nazi aliens. Borderlands turned the simple gun into a work of fine art, which changed each one into a unique and fun piece of loot that each possessed its own qualities, like flaming bullets, or the power to be to be thrown and explode like a grenade in order to reload. What this resulted in was a multitude of brilliant, memorable and addictive moments every time tough enemies exploded into a cloud of new loot.
