Call Of Duty is no longer about history or modern commentary, its now pure science fiction. To that end, moving the setting 100 years or so in the future means you can come equipped with more toys than you can shake a stick at. Shown in the trailer are huge, hulking exoskeletons armed with rotary machine guns, the aforementioned hover bikes, cloaking machines, enhanced super soldiers capable of inhuman acts of strength and speed as well as gloves that allow the protagonists to scale the side of slick fronted buildings. Also shown are visual overlays that identify the locations of enemies in the dark and tools scanning the floor for something. Its not clear at this point what theyre looking for in the dark, but the gadget theyre using looks cool as hell. Imagine the implications technology like this can have for multiplayer. What about a game setting based around hunting one cloaked enemy? Or possibly chasing other players up the side of a building in a vertical map? What about clambering up the side of a building and raining bullets on the poor unsuspecting players below? Weve all seen the effects stomping around in a powerful exoskeleton can have (hello, Titanfall), so its beyond exciting to see AW taking things to the absolute next level.
