Let's face it. There are a lot of Call of Duty games but many have dwelled on wars that seem fairly... cliched. World War 2, Vietnam, Afghanistan ... these are wars that have captured the imagination of storytellers for years (Afghanistan, less so). Furthermore, as Call of Duty seems to be moving to a more futuristic setting, the days of the truly realistic war-shooter look more and more obsolete (which makes me wonder why Battlefield and EA are not trying to continue to harvest those ripe fields now that Call of Duty has left them to fallow, but anyway...). But just in case the COD series decides once again to wind back the clock, here are some wars they will not take their ideas from. Before we move on though let's see the criteria. Firstly, the technology has to be up to snuff. I doubt anyone wants to see Call of Duty: Agincourt anytime soon. Secondly the war has to be big enough to warrant a game on it.This does not necessarily mean years- but enough has to happen. But other than that, it's up to me.
