One consistent complaint through most of the CoD games is that they don't feature enough gore given the subject matter: players can be riddled with bullets but pretty much manifest no signs of trauma whatsoever. While the series still has a long way to go before it's got something like Soldier of Fortune's gloriously grisly dismemberment engine, BO3 brings back the most voluminous gore since 2008's World at War, with explosives being a particularly useful way to separate a player from their limbs. The most ridiculous form of gibbing seems to come from the Sparrow bow weapon, as a direct hit will explode the victim into a bloody pile of entrails. Pretty sure you can even see their kidneys if you look close enough... Given how CoD has a reputation for being populated by youngsters, it's refreshing to see the series take a turn towards the adult.
