Can Someone Please Tell Rocksteady That Joker Isn't Batman's Only Villain?

VR's already a stretch, but ANOTHER Joker appearance?!

Just when you were beginning to think that Rocksteady had packed their bags and departed the big bat-shaped door they entered in 2009, they come out with an announcement like this.

I have to admit, this was definitely not the Arkham game I expected to see at E3 this year, what with Warner Bros. Montreal almost certainly working on a title of their own, along with the fact that Rocksteady themselves had seemed to at least hint at their own exit from the Arkham brand close to the end of Arkham Knight's many DLC releases.

Here we are though, with the London-based studio now taking the Caped Crusader into virtual reality itself:

Arkham VR is selling itself on the premise that players will be able to step into the proverbial cowl of the world's greatest detective and set to work solving crimes. It looks set to pack a narrative punch though, as the game turns back time to the height of the vigilante's career, meaning that, yes, The Joker is back. Again.

I know I know, but please, save your collective groans for now. Even if you're not a fan of VR, this title is promising a decent expansion of the Arkham lore. According to Game Informer, Nightwing is supposedly dead (he probably isn't), and obviously The Joker is taking centre stage once again. It's Batman. It's VR. What else is there to explain?
