One of Crash 4's most exciting new features is "retro mode".

The main story mode has changed in a number of ways to bring the series in line with modern-day platform titles. Lives have been removed meaning you won't face the dreaded game over screen.

However, for those that want to play Crash as it was in 1996 retro mode will allow you to play with lives, Wumpa Fruit and much more still included.

Which ever mode you play, each have their own specific rewards such as gems to earn, meaning to collect everything on offer you will need to play both.

Retro mode allows the developers to cater for all types of players. For new fans of the series who are used to the current platformers, it will allow them to enjoy Crash in a 2020 setting.

For those, like myself, who were lucky enough to play through the early games in the series when they were first released retro mode keeps Crash exactly as it used to be.
