Back in February we got word from THQ that Darksiders 2 would be released June 26th. However since then THQ has been dodging any questions regarding to whether or not this still holds true. On the business side of things THQ has had a rough couple of years. Its stocks have continued to fall and the company has recently been hit with a round of layoffs. At the end of 2011 the company posted a net loss of $55.9 million dollars and could have lost up to $80 million in revenue due to the uDraw tablet's failed expansion onto the Xbox 360 and PS3. In a recent exclusive interview with game site Ripten, Danny Bilson who is the VP of core games was asked that due to the recent layoffs and restructuring within the company, would Darksiders 2 hit it's original June release date? Bilson answered with, "We havent announced anything but the team is working really, really hard. Were not going to ship it before its done." It is also reported that a THQ PR representative that was present during the entire interview was also unable to provide any clarification on whether we can expect to see the apocalyptic hack n slash adventure game this summer. Game Informer then followed up the interview with their own questions to the troubled publisher and were met with the repsonse, "No new announcements have been made at this time." As it stands it seems more and more unlikely that we'll be seeing Death ride out at the end of June, hopefully we'll be able to get some more concrete information during this years E3.
