8. The INSANE BT Boss Fights
There are several boss fights against BTs during the game, with the two most epic and memorable ones occurring in its final third.
Shortly before you fight Higgs by himself, you'll battle a gigantic, humanoid BT to which Higgs is attached, while the game's final boss is a huge, whale-like BT which flies around the outskirts of Capital Knot City.
Though neither of the fights are particularly imaginative or challenging - they're glorified bullet sponges, basically - the sheer scale of the enemies themselves is jaw-dropping and unlike nothing else in the game up to that point.
It's a shame Kojima didn't lean into the obvious Shadow of the Colossus parallels and make these fights into clever traversal puzzles rather than fairly underwhelming shootouts.
