E3 2012: The Last Of Us Gameplay Blows Us Away
Naughty Dog debuted a pure gameplay demo of The Last Of Us at E3 this year, and it's nothing less than spectacular. Full video inside!
The Last Of Us has proven to everyone this year at E3 that it is one of the upcoming titles to watch. With the early mystery surrounding the title of what exactly it would be about with the inclusion of a mysterious man, a young girl, infected enemies, and a post-apocalyptic world, many assumed it could easily be just another game capitalizing on the end-of-the-world hype train surrounding all media now. Yet, Naughty Dog has clearly reassured the gaming community that The Last Of Us will be a survival experience like nothing you've played before. The world of The Last Of Us is stunning. Naughty Dog has completely revamped the level of detail that can be achieved within a game environment. This isn't your average apocalyptic aftermath. Lush greenery is taking over the city, flood water has taken over roadways, and the days of bland color palettes need to be gone from here on out. Clearly, the time the development team has taken researching what would truly happen if a plague affected humanity has paid off in unimaginable ways. Joel and Ellie progress through the game world with caution. Listening to their dialogue provides a great insight into the relationship between the two characters. Their conversations offer up a greater understanding of exactly how they will rely on each other throughout the game. As they continue to explore, things take a nasty turn for the worse once they encounter a group of scavengers. Immediately, The Last Of Us presents you with the reality of the situation that our heroes are in, that this is an extremely dangerous world. Dropping to the ground and falling to whispers they chatter of what to do. Ellie questions whether or not to go around them, andd Joel moves to an open window in order to flank. Silently he chokes out an enemy as the helpless scavenger struggles to break free. Picking up his revolver, Joel empties the pistol of the remaining bullets. Another man spots him, and what follows is an amazing display of what Naughty Dog has accomplished.
