In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Xbox marketing chief Mike Nichols said that Xbox One X wasn't going to support VR, as Microsoft believed the experience was simply better suited to the PC gamer space.

However, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer later came out and semi-refuted this, stating that he's a fan of the tech but thinks we're still "a few years away from something that will really work", referring to the need to make the headsets wireless above all else.

It's safe to say that though the Xbox One X will likely end up having some support for other VR headsets, Microsoft aren't going to jump in and create their own dedicated headset for a while, probably not until the next flagship Xbox console is announced.
