6. Halo 6
Part of Microsoft's three-prong first-party attack to turn heads (the other games being the aforementioned Gears trilogy and another Forza Horizon), Halo is in a truly bizarre state coming out of Halo 5.
With a campaign built on, well, lies, 343's last game wasn't remotely about the much advertised "crime" Master Chief had committed that Spartan Locke was hunting him down for. Instead, the focus was on Cortana and her growing rampancy, seeing both Chief and Locke team up after only a handful of missions.
It all added to the increasingly vocal contingent of Halo fans that continue proclaim the series is dead, being Bungie are no longer at the helm.
ALL of this is to say, that whatever Halo 6 "is"; whatever story threads it attempts to pull from or set up, have to be exemplary.
