6. SOCOM Is Getting Rebooted
The third-person PlayStation shooter franchise SOCOM has a passionate, loyal fanbase that has been waiting more than seven years for a new release.
In addition to a SOCOM website counting down to the time of Sony's E3 conference, the same "leak" that suggested Resident Evil 2 Remake will have a VR component also claimed that a new SOCOM game, entitled "SOCOM: Coalition", will be debuted at Sony's presser.
How Likely Is It?: For starters, the SOCOM website is gone and the domain information is blocked, suggesting it's a joke. And again, that 4Chan "leak" shouldn't be taken much seriously.
It'd be cool to see the series make a return, but unless it's reconfigured as a Battle Royale game, it's hard to see the franchise thriving in the current multiplayer climate.
