E3 2019: 10 Biggest Surprises That Blew Us Away

10. The Terminator/Gears Crossover

So, out of all the action movie franchises that could have partnered with the Gears of War series, Microsoft chose... Terminator?

It's an interesting choice to be sure, with the appearance of Terminator: Dark Fate's new killing machine being an odd inclusion to rub shoulders with the various beefy soldiers and similarly large aliens that are mainstays of the series.

Plus, considering how the Terminator franchise hasn't exactly been on top form for a good few years at this point (and also taking into account how the latest movie doesn't seem set to do anything to change that), Microsoft's allowing of such a partnership seems even stranger - meaning that the financial incentives must have been great.

Whatever your opinion on this crossover, this Terminator will be playable in Gears 5, so that's a thing. Oh, and he's showing up in Ghost Recon as well. You can't move for Terminators at E3.
