E3 2019: 12 Insane Announcements That Could Happen

12. A New AAA Castlevania From Konami

Many moons ago, Komani was renowned for publishing some of the greatest games of all-time, from Metal Gear to Silent Hill, Contra to Suikoden, and many a Pro Evolution Soccer. Things started to shift in the last generation of consoles when Konami began putting out less AAA games though, and anything beyond Metal Gear was fairly lacklustre.

Things shifted in a huge way in 2015 when the company had a very public break-up with long-time creator Hideo Kojima. Gamers turned on Konami in a big way, and the company has all but stopped making AAA video games.

That being said, Konami has been putting out lots of collections in the past few years. In particular, the Castlevania series has been getting a lot of love from Komani. With Metal Gear on the back-burner and Silent Hill seemingly dead, Castlevania is the biggest property the company has, and it seems intent on mining it.

So, is a new Castlevania in the works?

Possibly, but the biggest indicator here is just the love the company has shown the series. It's either testing the waters for new Castlevania games, or just revisiting some classics for a quick buck. Regardless, the possibility of a new, AAA Castlevania is rather mouth-watering.
