6. Hold D-Pad Directions To Reset Item Cycles

A feature introduced in Dark Souls 3 to alleviate having to flick through so many items in that tiny corner D-pad window, holding a given direction will "reset" back to whatever you've put in the first slot of your Inventory's item allocation.

It works for various spell slots too if you hold Up instead, as once you have enough Memory Slots or you're playing a dedicated mage build, it's recommended to have a reliable spell - healing or otherwise - in that first spot.

A Flask for healing in your first inventory slot, and a majorly offensive or distancing spell for your first Sorcery or Incantation. Easy.
