Hats off to Platinum Games, they have had a bumpy ride of it, but are now doing better than ever.

Built from the ashes of the underrated Clover Studios, they initially created some incredible (but underselling ) games at their start, before hitting a weird and rocky period.

Recent strong titles like Nier: Automata and Astral Chain, however, have rightfully cemented them as the ultimate action game developer of the modern era.

But what about their rough-edged start? Two of their milestone games, Vanquish and Bayonetta, severely undersold on last-gen consoles, and were hampered by some rough framerates and loading times. Luckily, both have also gained a massive cult reputation since, and are getting a fresh polish for modern game machines.

For any gamers who missed out the first time, you have no excuses this second round – buy them and play them!
