Every Major Video Game Franchise Returning In 2019

Ultimate Alliance has been gone for FAR too long.

As 2019 is truly kicking into gear, it's more evident than ever that this is going to be a seismic year for games.

Not only have Capcom proven they're back with a vengeance thanks to the pitch-perfect likes of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Devil May Cry 5, but if rumours are to be believed, Microsoft's showcase at E3 will end with a look at not one, but two new consoles - the first of which being in your arms by Xmas.

And on top of that, we have Google demoing fancy new streaming tech, upending the very idea of what platform ownership can be or feel like, but all of this sidesteps the fact that video game delivery systems need games to make them appealing.

Enter the developers of the world, and though only a handful are flying the flag for all-new IP, it does mean the majority are established franchises and IP we know, love, and can't wait to see more of.

Such is the state of the industry at the close of the generation. A multi-million dollar business needs established franchises to guarantee big revenue numbers, but providing they're always innovating in their own way, there's a ton to look forward to.
