Rage 2 just looks f'ing brilliant.
Yes, hardly anyone played the original so sales could be a bit of an issue, but hear me out: This is literally an open-world version of 2016's DOOM, done up with powdery, colourful explosions, somehow even bigger weapons and weighty vehicle physics.
Developers iD Software have teamed up with Just Cause/Mad Max devs Avalanche to ensure they don't fall into the trap of only perfecting one element of their overall package, and with trailers coming backed by Andrew W.K.'s finest heavy metal, there's a tone here that's very easy to fall in love with.
Like DOOM, hopefully Rage's future lies in addressing just how ridiculous its premise is, and with no multiplayer to speak of, here's to another supremely tight single player experience for FPS fans.
