The legacy of Team Meat is something else.

Literally two guys who wanted to make a throwback platformer to the era of the late 80s/early 90s, 2010 saw Super Meat Boy skyrocket to a level of fame that then made devs Tommy Refenes and Edmund McMillen go their separate ways, working on other projects, neglecting to return to their "perfect" creation until the time was right, if ever.

Now nine years later, we're getting Super Meat Boy Forever, with one half of the team, Tommy Refenes, returning to lead coding duties.

Brilliantly, the "Forever" part refers to procedurally generated levels, alongside revamps of the ones you know and likely rage-quitted over almost a decade ago.

It should mean - providing Refenes applies the same level of care and attention now as back in the day, that this truly does elevate SMB into never-ending play territory.
