The first Dragon Quest Builders was a surprising spin-off from the long-running RPG franchise. Taking their established world yet placing it in a Minecraft style sandbox, it wore its inspiration heavy on its sleeve but ultimately ended up being a decently fun diversion.

The sequel - that's now getting its Westen release - sets the bar higher with the additions of flying, swimming and filling the screen up with four player co-op. For fans of the predecessor and its inspiration, this looks like an enjoyable step in an improved direction.
