8. Holding R2 Slows You Down

Something to keep in mind when ascending the final Fall Mountain stage - holding R2 in preparation of a jump towards the crown will slow you down enough that someone can pass.

The technique is to sprint up the sides towards the crown, jump and immediately press R2 to make an outstretched leap, rather than jump while holding R2.

Everything counts in the closing milliseconds of this stage, and the correct jump-grab combo is invaluable.
