We've known for a long time that weapon customisation was going to be one of the defining new features of Fallout 4, taking inspiration from the modding community that added it into previous Fallout games. But now that the lucky people who somehow managed to get early access to the game (and are being hunted by Bethesda Assassins as I write), we've got a better insight into just how much modding you can do to your weapons. It seems that even the basic guns in the game allow for a ton of tweaking, with one user reporting that 15 of the more basic guns in the game can be embellished with at least 25-30 different little bits and bobs. Another intriguing thing the user mentioned was that, along with the standard and energy weapons, there will also now be a 'radioactive' weapon category that emits radiation damage.
