On 27th September everyone's favourite sport game is releasing its newest instalment, FIFA 14 will hit the shelves surrounded by much anticipation as everyone relishes playing as their team with new players and new kits in a new season. A season is a long time in football and since the release last September of FIFA 13, with some teams players excelling like Michu and Bale but then there are the people that lag behind and don't fulfil their potential. Here we are looking at the later or the two types of the players, they have had a less than productive season at their clubs and I believe their overall rating is very generous regarding their form. Here are 5 players who deserve a lower rating on FIFA 14.
5. Thomas Vermaelen
Vermaelen was one of first Belgians to come to our shores in what has been a recent invasion. When he arrived at the Gunners he looked like a great defender, strong aerial presence at both ends of the pitch and looked like he could be a leader. He was made captain at the start of last season following the departure of Robin Van Persie to Manchester United, yet after a good first few games the defence started to crumble and Vermaelen didn't look like the player he has been in the past. This fall in standard by the defender led him to be dropped for the second leg of the Champions League match against Bayern Munich. And for the rest of the season he didn't have much of a look in for the rest of the season as Per Mertersacker and Laurent Koscielny built a strong partnership. In light of his performances last year and the likelihood that he will spend most of the season on the bench he should definitely have a lower rating for FIFA 14.
