We all know the feeling of being a couple of goals up against an opponent and being free enough to use R1/RB excessively, backheeling, flicking, and nonchalantly knocking the ball around the park. It genuinely does help in certain situations, and with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal who pride themselves on free-flowing total football, passing will flair is a glorious asset. However, the R1/RB button will be repurposed to accommodate a power pass. The skill won't be easy to master, but it will combine the directness of a standard pass, with the power and defence-splitting capabilities of a through ball. It needs to be timed right to avoid blasting the ball past the target, but it's an intriguing, subtle feature that could be maximised.
