A live league mode could be problematic, but there's certainly an idea there that could be refined. Rather than head-to-head seasons against one individual friend, a live tournament would mean that users can be thrown into direct competition with several friends. This mini-league idea would be between friends who could arrange set times to play fixtures across a short or extended period. Of course that means there'd be practical issues of making sure opponents keep up with their games, but there's a shell of an idea that could be worked on for a more long-term FIFA project rather than a simple pick-up-and-play mode.
