In a move that will surprise absolutely nobody, EA Sports have made David De Gea the highest rated goalkeeper in England for FIFA 18. With an overall rating of 90, and the potential to grow to 92, he's bettered only by Manuel Neuer (92) worldwide, with Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois (89) his closest Premier League rival (of the players that have been announced thus far).

The Spaniard is United's top rated player in FIFA 18, and an obvious choice at number one. Sergio Romero's overall rating of 80 should make him a capable back-up, while 20-year-old Joel Pereira comes in at 71, though his potential peaks at 84.

Goalkeeper was always going to be one of United's strongest positions. De Gea is rightly considered among the best in the world, and Romero, while occasionally erratic, is an excellent number two. Add Pereira's youth into the equation and there's a strong chance you won't need to alter the GK talent pool throughout career mode's first few seasons, unless Real Madrid deliver on their real-life interest and snatch De Gea away.
