Managers, much like the players they work with, want the best for their careers. After a few years of working magic with a smaller side, bosses will naturally begin to look up the ladder towards bigger jobs and demand better wages.

In FIFA 18, manager switches don't work like that.

Sometime around FIFA 11/12, EA decided that gamers shouldn't have the freedom to pick which club they want to manage at the end of the current season. Now, checking the Job Offers tab around October/November or April/May is pretty much the only way to switch teams. Even then, there's no guarantee the listed clubs will want your services.

That's true regardless of success. Win three Premier League titles with Newcastle and Real Madrid may still feel the job is too big a challenge. This archaic system doesn't fit in with other aspects of the game and is due an overhaul in time for FIFA 19.
