FIFA 19 Beta: 5 Major Problems That Need Fixing

5. Switching Players

We've all used the excuse in the past that the "game selected the wrong player" as your opponent waltzes through your defence yet again, but that complaint may well ring true in FIFA 19.

Unlike in recent years, gamers have to be much more proactive in changing the player they are controlling to avoid having your centre-back running in the opposite direction of the ball because you presume the one closest to it would be selected.

The same issue arises when attacking too. For those of us who enjoy getting the ball wide, knocking it past a defender and whipping a cross in, you will struggle on the new game due to players resorting back to their defensive tropes unless the ball is at their feet. If a ball is loose or simply played further in front of the man as opposed to close-control dribbling, an attempted cross simply results in your player executing a slide tackle, even when isolated.

This is one of those unnecessary tweaks that FIFA have included when there was nothing wrong in last year's game.
