FIFA 19 seemed to wrap up the tale of Alex Hunter after three different chapters to The Journey. What was once a bold new vision (one that finally made the most of the miserable 'Be A Pro' mode that had been rattling about uselessly for years) is now showing some age itself, and any story goings-on would need an update in FIFA 20.
They might just get it.
Many in the FIFA fan community on social media and YouTube agree that EA aren't done experimenting with a fully-fleshed story mode in their football games. We'd tend to agree with that, because this is a winning idea if it becomes a bit less linear and more customisable.
The growing popularity of the women's game may encourage EA to continue the tale of Hunter's half-sister Kim, or 'The Journey 4' could introduce a totally new character that spins away from Alex and his decidedly-English story. One with some more international flavour might be a shout.
