Leaving wonderkids for a moment, do you ever just need to sign a solid midfield presence without the hassle of wondering whether they'll be any good? If so, go for Sven Bender. He's on par with twin Lars, but costs less. In fact, you can pick up the Dortmund enforcer for just £11m. He's still only 26, and offers some incredible defensive stats worthy of virtually any team in the world, even if he does have several lower (non-essential) attributes. The one problem with Bender can sometimes be his ability to rack up yellow cards (currently 9 yellows in 12 games for my team...) though that's a fair cost for the presence and steel he'll add to your midfield.
