Former Celtic and Wigan man Thomas Rogne didn't make much of an impact in the UK, but he's a tremendously effective (if limited) centre-back in FM 2017.

His core defensive stats are all above 14, and while he's not exactly quick off the mark, that shouldn't be a huge problem if you don't play with a high line. For mid-table Premier League sides and below, Rogne is an excellent starting choice.
