Football Manager 2021: 15 Wonderkids You Must Watch Out For

Prepare for the future without breaking the bank.

Few things in the Football Manager franchise are as satisfying as signing a wonderkid and watching them blossom into an absolute world-beater.

Some clubs are fortunate enough to have fantastic academies so that you can develop players from within, but some others are a little less fortunate and may require rigorous planning for the future.

Although FM may use more particular parameters like personality, professionalism and reputation that all contribute to being a wonderkid, to the more general community the only two requirements are that you are under the age of 21 and you have a high potential.

If you came to this list expecting to see the likes of Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Jadon Sancho, think again.

These players are already borderline world-beaters and will cost you far too much to justify their inclusion. When a player costs £90,000,000, they aren't a wonderkid, they're either an established superstar or you've vastly overpaid.

With all of that being said, let's see some lesser-known talents who you probably will be able to afford in the next instalment of the game.

15. Karim Adeyemi - Red Bull Salzburg

There's just something about Red Bull Salzburg and promising young strikers, but they look set to deliver another worldie.

Karim Adeyemi spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Salzburg's feeder club, FC Liefering, where he managed 9 goals and 8 assists in just 14 league appearances.

The 18-year-old German striker is most suitable to the role of a Pressing Forward due to his good stats in key mental attributes off the ball, teamwork and work rate.

What he lacks in size he makes up with lightning pace, and at a value of £650,000 in FM 20, you'd like to hope that signing him next time out wouldn't break the bank.

If you are thinking about a Borussia Dortmund save for FM21 then Adeyemi may play the perfect deputy to Erling Haaland, as he is an avid supporter of Der BVB. He can also fluently speak English due to his Nigerian heritage, so a move to the Premier League could also be on the cards.
