Most obvious of the changes is the fact that the island fans have come to know and love has been replaced in its entirety. Almost all of the old island's locations are gone, aside from new versions of Retail Row, Pleasant Park and Salty Springs.

In their place are a whole host of new locales, such as Slurpy Swamp, where standing in certain water segments will steadily fill your shields; Steamy Stacks, a power plant with vats of purple liquid which give off an updraft you can glide from, like the old volcano area; and Sweaty Sands, a beach area that sits on a bay full of islands to explore. There are also numerous smaller Landmark locations to find dotted around the map.

It's not just the locations that have changed with this update - the entire geography of the island has been altered. Gone are the familiar desert, jungle and ice biomes, replaced with a less cluttered island filled with rolling hills, high peaks and a number of rivers and lakes.

The fact that there's so much more water now is a result of the next new feature...
