Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Preview Trailer Is Downright Insulting

Ubisoft have release a new video to promote Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, but is it a hit or a miss?

With the release of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier looming, it is understandable that Ubisoft would be wanting to up their marketing, and show people some of the gameplay that those in the beta were able to experience. Well maybe not so much. A video, which while released a little while ago only exploded onto twitter today, shows more of a turn for the bizarre. Rather than showing off gameplay, or customisation, or even having the developers talk about a product they have invested time in, they instead went with the following video shown below. http://youtu.be/3BoIe7riccU So fair enough have a woman who knows her gun tech talking about the game, or even about how well the guns work in the game, that I would have no issue with. The problem is that this kind of video is insulting, not just to women, but to the men who want to play the game too. All the video is saying is that you can be tempted to buy a game by a woman shouting, firing a gun or two, and standing in front of the Kinect in something that looks rather uncomfortable to wear. It seems that I€™m not the only one who feels this way about the video, the responses on the YouTube video itself as well as on Twitter really speak for themselves. The majority of gamers out there aren€™t impressed with this. Most comments are not about the game, which should happen, but instead are mostly derogatory comments on her appearance (which is also not okay but that€™s a whole new argument). I have no issue with Coco herself, she seems comfortable enough handling a gun that I would understand her as a choice, but I think the video was handled wrong. It is more of a showcase of her body than the game. Maybe that€™s what they were going for though. I would love for this video to turn out to be an elaborate hoax, but it seems it is not the case. Sure Ubisoft have gotten people talking about their game, but in a mostly negative light, I can only hope that the game will stand on its own feet, but from discussions with others it seems that one video has put people off the game entirely.
