According to an article in the newest UK magazine Play both Syphon Filter 4 and God of War IV will be announced as official titles in February. In addition, the article also states that Syphon Filter 4 will see release this winter 2012. An excerpt from the article:
"As far as our spies tell us, Syphon Filter 4 will be announced and released during 2012 - they're not often wrong either, Developed by SCE London Studio (once thought to be Sony Bend), it will see a return to the world of shooting, espionage and Gabe Logan's superb name."
One of the more surprising revelations is the fact that Sony Bend would not be developing Syphon Filter 4. Sony Bend has developed all Syphon Filter games up to this point. SCE London Studio is Sony's largest European studio and is responsible for "EyeToy, SingStar, EyePet and PlayStation Home". As for God of War IV, we have been hearing rumors about the game since the release of God of War III; it would be nice if Sony just got it over with and announced the game. We know it is coming it is just a matter of when and what new features will be in the game. According to Play magazine online play might be included:
"Sony Santa Monica's call for an online dev to join its ranks has many thinking the inevitable God of War IV will include online play,"
These are rumors for now and Sony has responded with "no announcements have been made, and anything are hearing is speculation." In my opinion I just don't see Sony announcing God of War IV outside of a major event like E3. Syphon Filer 4 on the other hand I could see being announced next month, but we will just have to wait and see.
