3. New RPG Mechanics & Combat

One of the things evident in the gameplay reveal was changes in combat with the addition of more RPG elements such as how enemies now have health bars and hit-boxes, and how damage is now displayed numerically.

This forces players to understand a bigger range of attacks; the start up and recovery frames, and their distance in what appears to be a much deeper combat system, instead of relying on Batman's almost immediate ballerina-esque fight patterns.

Both your character and enemies have levels which shows how prepared characters against enemies and it appears that some abilities require the use of a combat meter that is present on the bottom left of the screen. It now feels more like an RPG experience similar to The Witcher 3, Dark Souls or the more recent Assassin's Creed titles.

Another returning feature is the inclusion of co-op combat take-downs, which allow players to work together to clear out stronger enemies together or during predator sequences utilizing stealth techniques and effectively distracting and eliminating enemies co-operatively.
