With the shock announcement yesterday from SCEE Senior Vice President Michael Denny that Gran Turismo 6 would be among the titles hitting the PS3 this year, fans have stirred up conversation anew regarding what Polyphony Digital can do to improve the hugely popularise franchise. After the previous game endured constant, immensely frustrating delays, suffered from an underwhelming graphical presentation and was plagued with countless technical issues (PD had to advise players to sign out of PSN to play the single-player game without freezing and long loading times), there's the hope that now the infrastrucutre is there, the launch of a sixth game should be a whole lot smoother. Though I remain skeptical that Gran Turismo 6 will be with us before the end of the year given that we still haven't got even a whiff of a screenshot, here are 10 things that the game, whenever it comes out, absolutely needs...
10. Release It For The PS4 Simultaneously
The most surprising aspect of yesterday's announcement wasn't that it's going to apparently be with us this year, but that it's going to be released on the PlayStation 3, with no mention whatsoever being given towards a simultaneous PS4 release, also. Given that GT6 was widely-expected to be announced for the next-gen console within the coming months, it's a surprise that PD have instead opted for the PS3 platform, though all things considered, it probably shouldn't be; after all, if you're developing a sequel to a hugely popular game, don't you want it on the platform with the widest user-base? It would be hugely disappointing if the game didn't get a more visually arresting port to the PS4, though at the same time, there's the feeling that given how PD can barely seem to handle getting a game released for one platform, trying to do two might simply be too much for them to handle. Still, it at least guarantees that if the PS4's launch line-up proves underwhelming, we'll still have something awesome to play on our PS3s alongside Grand Theft Auto V.
