Past Grand Theft Auto titles have taken players everywhere from gangster's paradise Vice City, to the crime-ridden underbelly of London in the swingin' '60s, but widespread reports suggest it about to go bigger.

Multiple news outlets have claimed GTA 6's world map could span every city from the series so far, taking players from Liberty City to San Andreas and beyond.

Imagine being able to jack a car in one city and hightale it to another, leaving the cops in your rearview mirror as you cross state lines with a smug look on your face.

It makes sense that Rockstar wants to go bigger with GTA 6, given that it will have the power of current-generation gaming hardware on its side, but creating an entire world would be a huge task for the development team.

GTA 5 featured multiple playable characters, so perhaps its sequel will take the same approach with one based in each of the series' main three cities, starting out on their home turf before travelling across country as their story threads intertwine.
