GTA 6: 12 Exciting Theories That Would Change EVERYTHING
Would you play a first-person GTA?
At this stage, you’ve probably heard of a little games studio called Rockstar. Attracting attention over the years for everything from Manhunt to Bully and L.A. Noire, in recent years they've turned all attention towards Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption.
Snark aside, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 represented one of the biggest developers in the industry firing on all cylinders, resulting in some of the most awe-inspiring achievements in open-world gaming the industry has yet seen.
How does Grand Theft Auto V continue to be such a sales success? With 120 million sales under its belt (as of February 2020) and the seemingly eternal appeal of Grand Theft Auto Online, it’s hard to see the game ever really going anywhere. Or being topped, for that matter.
Still, talk continues to turn to its potential sequel. With a new console generation on the horizon and GTA V’s seventh anniversary approaching this September, this is only natural. While we know slim to nothing about the thus-far-hypothetical Grand Theft Auto VI, the industry has been concocting some fascinating theories about the follow-up.
Let’s take a look at some of these ideas, which could be huge if they turn out to be true.
12. Buildings, Vehicles And The Economy Is Realistic & Changing
Considering the bold, brash, absurd situations that Grand Theft Auto regularly puts players in, it’s safe to say that grounded realism isn’t really Rockstar’s first concern here. Nevertheless, this theory really does have the potential to be a game-changer.
If the next game will indeed be set in the past (the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s have all been suggested as possibilities, considering where the series has taken us already), who’s to say that the team have to stick with just one decade?
Grand Theft Auto VI could be set along a complex timeline, which could have difficult connotations in terms of how things look and how much they cost over time.
One theory, however, claims that Rockstar have that covered: GTA VI’s buildings will change with the times, as will the game’s economy: classic cars, it’s been suggested, may be more expensive to buy depending on where in the timeline the player currently is!
