GTA V: 10 Awkward Features That Need Improving

7. Melee Combat

Traditionally in GTA, melee combat has perhaps been tertiary to driving and shooting; two mechanics that have seen vast overhauls over the cause of the franchise€™s lifespan. I mean I can€™t say that the melee mechanics haven€™t improved at all in all these years, but it€™s never been updated to the point that it€™s a feature to write home about, even in IV. With Sleeping Dogs arriving out of almost nowhere and presenting a much more fluid and immersive hand to hand experience, I€™d say GTA IV is the absolute perfect time for R* to make a vast improvement on the hand to hand combat mechanics. I€™m talking this: http://youtu.be/dr0P0Zz0RoQ As opposed to this: http://youtu.be/rEjc78ny0A8 A few tweaks and adjustments could create a more dynamic hand-to-hand combat system (the addition of more counter takedowns, ability to easily melee with multiple opponents and perhaps a greater variety of moves) GTA could easily become just as celebrated for its melee mechanics as it is its shooter elements.
