You know how they say young love is like a flame that burns out quickly, but true love is like glowing embers that last through the night? Well, thats basically how I feel toward the Half Life franchise. Its not an explosive yet ultimately short love that faded once Id clocked the games (like the kind of love Ive had over the years for Resident Evil); its a seemingly everlasting fondness that reignites almost every time I think back over the series so far. I want to play Half Life 3 like now, today, yesterday even. But in all truth, Ill wait forever if thats what it takes. And when it comes time to be reunited with what Id consider to be a forerunner for greatest video game series ever created, Ill be right there at the front of the queue (even though admittedly itll be a virtual queue that Ill join from the comfort of the very seat in which I write this piece). But with that being said, the ants in my gaming pants are really starting to bite; if I dont get to play HL 3 soon, I might die from holding my breath.
