Halo Infinite: 5 Forgotten Covenant Vehicles That Need To Return
5. Revenant
The Revenant first appeared in Halo: Reach, serving to fill the niche between the fast moving Ghost and the powerful but lumbering Wraith as the Spectre and Prowler did before it. As such, it is very fast and maneuverable, well armored, and armed with a light plasma mortar.
The Revenant is based on an older, more primitive Sangheili vehicle design, originally used to travel the vast wilderness of their homeworld. Upgraded with modern military hardware, it serves as a versatile heavy infantry support vehicle, much like the aforementioned Prowler and Spectre, boasting significant firepower whilst still being fast enough to keep up with Covenant Ghosts.
The Revenant’s rarity is explained in-universe as the product of low manufacturing rates; unlike other Covenant vehicles produced by Assembly Forges, the Revenant is a private-sector innovation crafted by the Merchants of Qikost, who lack the interstellar manufacturing capacity of the Covenant’s primary vehicle foundries, and as such can only produce them in limited numbers.
As with its predecessors, the Revenant has yet to reappear in any game. Although it was slated to appear, albeit heavily modified, in Halo 4, it was ultimately cut late in the development process.
